Imo State government has restated suspension of award of contracts by heads of ministers, agencies and commissions.

This is contained in a press release signed by the Principal Secretary to the governor, TUC Nwokonkwo. “Particular note has been taken of some parastatals where the contract letters and agreements are being backdated. Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma has directed the suspension of all award of contracts in the State public, except with due authorization from office of the governor”.
It said the government has also suspended all contracts already awarded for which mobilization has not been paid, bearing in mind that the post no debit order imposed by the state government on all accounts operated by ministries, Departments and agencies still subsists. In another development, Governor Hope Uzodinma has approved the immediate dissolution of all boards of parastatals and agencies in the state.

It directed all board chairmen and members to handover all government documents and property at their disposal to the chief executive or most senior public servant in their respective parastatals or agencies
