A social crusader prolific writer, Mr. Ugoriji Nwokocha has recommended a smooth relationship between the executive and legislative arms of the government, towards the realization of President Mohammadu Buhari’s socio-economic agenda for the nation. He also called for proper equipping of the Nigerian police force in order to tackle security challenges in the land. Mr. Nwokecha stated these recently in Umuahia, Abia State in a release he made available to newsmen.
“The police as the watchdog matters most in this present-day democracy and the bottlenecks therein. Service efficiency depends on the material provided the policemen coupled with the support they receive from state governors, traditional rulers, youths, etc.” He observed that the responsibility of maintaining the stability of the nation required the understanding and support of the masses, as according to him, President Buhari deserved commendation for promoting and protecting local industries through his border closure policy. The writer further charged the Ahmed Lawan led senate to promulgate some laws that would ensure that the effects of the border closure were cushioned. “Nigeria’s border could be developed like SINO-Soviet people applied it.
But, there should be no legislation to prevent them (Nigerians) from leaving their shore”, Nwokocha suggested. He further stressed that most states of the federation were blessed with the potentials of Lagos State, as captured in President Buhari’s Independent day speech in October 2019. This, he pointed out meant that every state in the country could be industrialized to provide a job for teeming youths, in line with President Buhari’s economic templates.
