The Case of the United State & Iran– By Amaechi Chukwuma
It is no longer a piece of strange news to all people of the World, the current trend of imminent war looming in the World today. The drums of war are sounding. The United States of America, also known as the World Power because of its Military Might and Advanced Technological Weaponry is watching closely, looking for an ideal opportunity to strike at its foes, the Iranians.
I titled this article, “Revenge is better served cold” because you will see what happens when you serve it hot. Please, follow my story patiently to get the full gist.
- A country called Iran shoots down a plane in its territory, killing 176 passengers on board a flight. This according to the Iranian Government was done to revenge the killing of its powerful Army General Soleimani, by the United States Military Drone. Unfortunately for them, the majority of the passengers on that plane (108 of them) are Iranian Nationals. I have never seen an act of revenge this expensive and stupid.
- There is currently huge and overwhelming mass protests going on in Iran. This is in response to the Iranian Government’s confession where it took the responsibility of downing the airplane loaded with 176 passengers containing Iranians and other Nationalities. Remember, there was more Iranian citizen on board that flight. The people of Iran are protesting that their government who is supposed to protect it, citizen, is the one killing the same citizen willfully, simply because they want to use it to teach the United State a lesson.
- Also in the course of the protest, 56 Iranians have so far been killed by their own government whose primary objective was to safeguard the lives of its citizenry.
- So far, 13 ballistic missiles have been fired at US bases. Each costs five hundred thousand dollars ($500000), or two hundred million each in our local Nigerian currency, yet no casualties were recorded on the American side. What a costly way to revenge your enemy. I tell you, it’s senseless, so senseless.
I once heard a wise man saying “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake”. The United State had the opportunity to warn or deflect or suppress the Missile from reaching the Passenger Airliner. And the fear of being attacked by the US triggered Iran to overarm itself. And the US-backed off and waited for the best opportunity to revenge.
See Result. If you had followed my story patiently, you would have probably read about the cost of each Missile, and funny enough, they (the Iranian government) are having financial challenges before now. With these drums of wars sounding so loudly, I bet you, even new financial Sanctions coming their way. It’s an expensive and stupid Revenge.
My admonition to you my dear reader is, when you have to revenge your enemy or whenever you have good reasons to be angry, think before you act and always remember that “Revenge is better served cold”.
