Police allegedly kill 2 youths in Abia village



The youth president of Umunwogu, a kindred in Ugwuati in Ukwa West LGA of Abia State, Nwakanma Ogbuji, has reportedly been shot and killed by a team of policemen.

According to an eyewitness, the youths of Ugwuati Community opposed the inclusion of their land in the Enyimba Economic City and this resulted in an argument between the government team and the youths leading to policemen shooting at them.

He said, “The Enyimba Economic City team came to the village to inspect a place it wanted to include in the building of Enyimba City but the youths in the village stopped them from entering village”.

“This resulted in an argument and the policemen who came with the team started shooting sporadically and killed the youth president and one other person while four were seriously injured and recuperating at an undisclosed hospital.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer Geoffery Ogbonna denied knowledge of the incident.
