In the wake of the event, EFCC image maker, Tony Orilade said the suspects were handed over to EFCC, Port Harcourt’s Zonal Office for further investigation and prosecution.

The suspects are believed to be bearing the names Joseph Dickson, Daniel Ofoni, Eric Enock, Allison Pereebiye and George Seidu. They were arrested by the officials of the NNS Pathfinder around Dutch Island Creek, Port Harcourt.

In the same vein, the Naval Handing Over Officer, Captain A. T. Ebo said that the suspects were arrested on June 12, 2019 on a wooden boat laden with products suspected to be illegally refined automotive gas oil.

However, Principal Detective Superintendent of EFCC, Olayinka Macaulay, who received the suspects and the seized boat on behalf of the commission, assured the navy of diligent investigation and prosecution of all the suspects.

Editor’s Comment:

Let the full force of law have it’s course. Nigerian Navy have eventually learnt to throw their weight around on the bad guys.
