Chief Chidi Nkem-Aruoma president Umuahia chamber of commerce, industry, mines and agriculture, UCCIMA has pointed out that UCCIMA is designed to create wealth and assist the government to move forward by building its policies as Government cannot do it all alone.
On that note, Aruoma assured that doubt taxation in Umuahia would soon be a thing of the past, as UCCIMA is expediting action to ensure multiple taxations in Umuahia comes to an abrupt stop, in order for SME to thrive.

Chief Aruoma who spoke with newsmen during a UCCIMA Business Summit organised in Umuahia to intimate SMEs operators of the ease of doing business and how they can access SME loans, further promised to work with the state government to end the issue of double taxation facing small businesses in Umuahia, this according to him will be part of actions to provide an enabling environment for Small and Medium-scale Enterprises, SMEs to thrive.
On the theme of the summit, Umuahia must excel’, Chief Aruoma, said UCCIMA as a way of supporting small businesses and also boosting the economic base of the Abia capital city, put up a one-day business summit to inform members of UCCIMA as well as the business community, on how they can access SME loans to support their businesses, know the role of banks in promoting SME and how they can boost their businesses using the social media.

Chief Aruoma said the financial institutions are ready to give out loans to business owners who have a good business plan, adding that the repayment mode is structured in such a way that is favourable to the business.
The UCCIMA president who said he would want to be judged by his legacies and not by the number of years he spends in the office revealed that by January 2020, some members of UCCIMA would be going to Turkey, Ukraine for agriculture and leather exhibitions respectively, stressing that he believes so much in importing technologies rather than finished products.
He further opined that a cluster is cited in Umuahia, so that the issue of touting and other nefarious acts carried out by the youths could be curtailed, thereby making umuahia safe for doing business.
