On Wednesday the presidency had said that President Muhammadu Buhari has no hands in the dethronement of the previous Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi II.

In an announcement gave by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu clarified that the constitution clarified that the arrangement of emirs and customary leaders was the obligation of State governors. The announcement titled, “leave president Buhari out of the Kano emirate issue”, he said that all allegations on President Buhari’s inclusion were false, pernicious and politically roused by the previous Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Wednesday on BBC Hausa, had asserted that President Buhari requested the evacuation of Muhammadu Sanusi as Emir of Kano; depicting the expulsion of Sanusi as a miserable occurrence to both Kano State and Nigeria when all is said in done.
As per the announcement, “President Muhammadu Buhari has no association at all in the of HRH Muhammadu Sanusi II from the situation of Emir of Kano. Every single word of such allegations are false, noxious and politically roused. ” The President doesn’t have a history of intervening in the affairs of any state in the country, except if in the constitution” On such issues which encroach on national security, he has an obligation of contribution as the law stipulates. “As laid out in the Constitution, the arrangement or expulsion of emirs and other conventional pioneers is carefully inside the purview of state governments.
