Lady Ebere Ihedioha, the immediate past first lady of Imo state, has reacted to her husband’s defeat at the Supreme Court on Tuesday, January 14. The apex court had declared Senator Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the duly elected governor of the southeast state. Mrs Ihedioha, a former deputy branch head at the Abuja office of the Securities and Exchange Commission has expressed solidarity with her husband
In its reaction, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) described the ruling as another sad commentary on the nation’s democratic order. The PDP lamented that the people’s collective destiny had been taken from the governor they chose and handed over to someone and a political party that the residents do not want. It lamented that Ihedioha’s progress as governor of Imo state is now being jeopardized as a result of the judgment.
