Imo State governor, Rt. Emeka Ihedioha has commended Eze Agunwa Samuel Ohiri, Obi of Obi-Orodo, for his outstanding leadership qualities as a traditional ruler. The governor said he has also maintained a cordial working relationship with Eze Ohiri, Chairman, and Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers.
The governor stated this on the occasion of the 25th wedding anniversary and 27 years on the throne of the monarch. The governor reiterated his commitment to lead Imo people with the fear of God and to rebuild collapsed infrastructure in the state.
The event which was chaired by the Obi of Onitsha, Eze Nnaemeka Achebe, started with a church service at St. James, Anglican Church, Obi Orodo. Ven. Timothy Agoh, who officiated the service told the monarchs that God entrusted their position to them hence they must rule their people with the mind of God.
He reminded them of king Nebuchadnezzar in the bible who allows powers to enter into his head and was punished by God for that. In his remarks, Eze Ohiri thanked God for the gift of his wife, Ugoeze Chioma Ohiri.
He recounted how he wanted to get married to an American lady but was directed by his family members and God to rescind his decision and be married to his wife. A marriage he said, that has produced lovely children.
He thanked former governor Achike Udenwa, forgiving his staff of office without any inkling that he was eventually become the Eze Imo. Ohiri commended Governor Emeka Ihedioha for restoring due process in governance.
The monarch thanked all those who have supported him and his family within the years of his marriage and reign as the traditional ruler.
