6 YAHOO BOYS ARRESTED BY EFCC WITH MINI COFFIN, PHONES AND CARS

EFCC said it laid siege and arrested six men suspected to be cybercrime syndicate known as ‘Yahoo boys’ in Ibadan – The commission revealed that one of the suspects, 38-year-old Azeez Adebowale, was nabbed with a mini casket which contained fetish materials – According to the agency, it recovered items including four cars, sophisticated phones and an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recorded another breakthrough in its fight against advanced cyberfraud after it nabbed six men suspected to be internet fraudsters known as “Yahoo boys.” In a statement released by the anti-graft commission on its official page on Facebook on Wednesday, March 4, the suspects were arrested during a house raid in Ibadan on Monday, March 2, 2020.

EFCC said one of the suspects Azeez Adebowale, 38, was arrested with a mini coffin suspected to contain fetish materials. “Adebowale, who claimed to be using the coffin as soap rack, was among the six persons arrested following weeks of piecing together tips on intelligence received on their alleged involvement in internet fraud,” the anti-graft agency revealed.

The commission further gave the names of the fraudsters as Ifelowo Ololade, Sonuyi Ayodeji, Folarin Oladele Olayinka and Aluko Olawale, adding that the cybercrime syndicate also has a female in its midst.

EFCC gave the name of the only female in the seven-man syndicate as Toyinsola Bolumole. A statement by the commission also disclosed that the fraudsters were nabbed by men of its Ibadan zonal office around Oluyole and Alao-Akala estates. Among items recovered from the suspects, gathers, include four cars, various brands of sophisticated phones and an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card.
